A Rare Melmac Penis Envy Psilocybe Cubensis

Squat Mac is a Melmac Penis Envy Psilocybe Cubensis with striking, unique physical traits. This bulbous shape is a difficult morphology for mushroom isolators to achieve. It produces massive, dense fruits and full flushes, making it a standout phenotype in the Cubensis lineage.

This strain originated from a spore isolation project started by TKK with the first phenotype observed. Melmac genetics are known for their stability. Over three decades, selective isolation, from the “Homestead Penis Envy” collection to modern Melmac, has preserved these traits while limiting new phenotypic variations. With Melmacs consistency actually makes this variety a little more special and unique sight to see.

Squat Mac was first found on high-manure substrates and has since performed consistently across a variety of substrates. Throughout 2022, Bas focused on enhancing, isolating, and stabilizing this rare genetic expression.

In a rare find, Bas discovered a few Mac specimens producing viable spores, a feature lost in most Melmac strains due to genetic mutations.
