Strain origin – Bas Original Hybrid, born from anastomosis hybridization from a wild Peruvian crossed with Penis Envy Uncut. The PEU being primarily a recessive trait variety, it was challenging to bring out some PE traits like a wrinkled stiped and non-hallow stipes.

The Machine Elf name’s sake comes completely inspired by Terrence McKenna’s stories about the quantum fields of reality that he encountered “Machine Elves”.

• Origin & Background – Cataloged internally as a Bas project with dual-lineage notes (Peruvian regional + PEU). The Machine Elf namesake reflects inspiration from Terence McKenna’s writings on imaginative “machine elves,” used here purely as a cultural reference.

• Morphology (Microscopy Focus) – Balanced cap profile; medium-to-large gill structures with varied spacing. Archival notes describe a wrinkled stipe texture and generally solid stipes, useful markers under magnification.

• Microscopic Features – Typically purple-brown spores measuring ~7 × 12 µm. Field notes indicate consistent visible spore release; the isolated syringe format supports reliable slide preparation and documentation.

• Preparation & Quality – Prepared in sterile conditions under UPLA filtration and suspended in an aqueous medium for microscopy.
