History of Burma

The Burma strain carries with it a story rooted in the northern central regions of Myanmar, where subtropical heat and fertile pasturelands create the perfect environment for wild fungi. Known for its connection to oxen and cattle fields, this habitat gave rise to the resilient genetics that define Burma today.
In 2016, a local community member provided the original spore print that introduced this variety to collectors and researchers worldwide. From there, Burma established itself as a dependable Psilocybe cubensis lineage. One that produces medium-height fruiting bodies capped in shades of tan and brown, a reflection of its classic wild form.

Burma’s reputation has only grown since then. It remains an enigmatic yet steadfast variety, valued for its consistency across substrates, its reliable sporulation, and its clear tie to a specific geographic origin. For mycologists and enthusiasts, Burma represents both a connection to Myanmar’s natural landscapes and a cornerstone in the broader history of Psilocybe cubensis.
