Wild Arenal Volcano Cubensis (F1)
The wild variety of the Arenal Volcano Cubensis, originally found in the rugged terrain of Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano, displayed an incredibly distinct and unique morphology. With UFO-shaped caps and bronze-golden hues, these mushrooms stood out in their native environment, offering a glimpse into their robust adaptability.
F1 Wild Arenal Volcano Cubensis
F1 Morphological Features:
- Spore Profile: Purple and standard pigment with normal sporulation and discharge.
- Cap Shape: Wild umbonate UFO-style caps, giving them an otherworldly appearance.
- Fruit Profile: Rich bronze golden hues with a very unique umbonate cap shape, resembling UFO saucers.
Within a single generation, these spores showed remarkable changes in morphology, size, and coloring, showcasing the power of adaptability in fungi.


F2 Arenal Volcano Cubensis
The second generation (F2) of Arenal Volcano Cubensis exhibited noticeable differences from the original wild spores.
